Availability & Rates

Our barn continues to be a popular destination for people seeking a very large and particularly comfortable space in an extremely quiet location, but nevertheless accessible to excellent pubs and restaurants and lovely walking country. For the many guests who have been here before, we are sad to report that in May 2024 we said goodbye to our dachshund Crocus but at 15 she had a good life. In terms of spaniels, we still have Kandy, now 12 and rather arthritic, but limping around and seemingly enjoying life. Then, four years ago we got another Springer, named Jaffna (we had always called our large dogs after towns in Sri Lanka). But we had also given a Springer, again four years old to a brother of Cary, who lives in Ireland. Unfortunately he has not been well, so we suggested that Twiglet should come to Rhodds farm which happened in March 2026. So both four year old dogs are bundles of energy; very keen to walk round the woods with you and we would emphasise absolutely no responsibility on the part of guests should either dog decide to come back by herself! Not having a miniature wirehaired dachshound for the first time in around 50 years proved too much for Cary, and in June 2025 Lily arrived!

After thought, and indeed consultation with past guests, we prefer week-long stays at our barn, from Friday to Friday, and as part of this have effectively reduced the rate per night. However shorter stays can be considered. And, for simplicity, we will keep the same rate throughout the year, although clearly some parts of the year are rather more attractive to people coming to Herefordshire. So the rate for the full week for 2026 is £950. Please note that this includes:

*Exclusive use of the very large space of the barn, with very comfortable accommodation for four guests.

*Access to the well-known gardens of Rhodds Farm, as well as the very fine ancient wood, with its marvellous bluebells.

*The provision of as much firewood as you need for the very powerful wood burner.

*Use of the excellent (and rather valuable) 1959 Wurlitzer jukebox, filled with appropriate records.

*Spaniels keen to accompany you on walks.

*An extraordinarily peaceful setting with no near neighbours or roads.

*Situated in marvellous countryside, excellent for walks as well as having a range of quite exceptional pubs and restaurants.

* Fibre WiFi Broadband.

* 7 KwT Electric Vehicle charging unit directly outside the barn front door, totally FREE to use for all our guests staying at Rhodds.

The property has two ponds, a small one close to the barn, and a much larger one in the woods. This should be borne in mind for anyone planning to come with small children.”

Additional Accommodation

It is also worth pointing out since the barn is an extremely large area but with two bedrooms for four people, although we do have a camp bed that can be erected for a fifth person if necessary. However we do have a bed-sitting room on the other side of the courtyard in the building we call “The Granary”, its steps are only 25 yards away from the front door of the barn. It is fully self-contained with a large double bed; toilet; shower. We do not normally let it by itself, but we are happy to do so for guests staying in the barn for £30 per night.
